I would love to have a copy of my yearbook (1957). The one I have has the wrong names and writeups under the pictures! They wouldn't give me a new one because several people had signed it before I discovered the errors! Email me at tacrist@comcast.net! Thank you!

Does anyone use this? Seems a shame it doesn't have more interest. I check the guestbook now and then and see that the last entry was 8 Jan 2011. The class of 62 has their 50th reunion next year and they a planning a cruise, not a good idea for such a landmark year especially with this economy. Didn't they learn anything at John Harris? Hello Skee... "Here Come the Pioneers" We'll never forget that tune. Nice start on what looks like an almost impossible task, documenting past classes of a great high school. I favor the JHHS class of 1966, but it was great to see pictures of other years. It would be great to have follow up bio information on our teachers. I see that Mr. Mink died the other day. He was a good History teacher at JHHS when I was there 1964 thru '66. ... Best regards.. Bill

Email and perhaps we can connect.

Las Vegas. In 1980 I was in Hbg and decided to just look inside John Harris. ..I remembered it as clean and polished. ..very orderly. The years took it's toll on building. It was difficult to see trash laying in the halls. Minerva was gone? I left quickly feeling disappointed. Maybe i just hit it on a bad day?

Just want to say that I very much appreciate my education at John Harris. It enabled me to support my family and allowed me to be a legal secretary for 35 years. I have worked for a U.S. Senator, a County Executive, a Judge of the Orphans Court, several large and small law firms in and around Washington, D.C. My children all have college degrees and my grandchildren are now getting degrees. I am eternally grateful to all of my teachers, especially Mr. Caba and Mrs. Railing (she flunked me in 10th grade typing and I had to take it over in 11th). We received a very good education.

My twin sister and I would have graduated in 1972. I wanted so bad to be a Pioneer! I loved my school years at Edison though. I would also love to get copies of the yearbooks when I was there. Anybody know if that can be done? The memories of those years will never fade. This is a great site. Kudos to you, and thank you.

I didn't graduate from Harris but my three brothers Dean, Larry and John Diehl did, I didn't have a chance after them attending Harris, so I went to McDevitt. But I did go to Edison from 1966 to 1968. I am hooking up with a lot of friends from Edison on Facebook and everyone wants to find someone.. I went to Memorial Lutheran Church and if you remember my Pastor, Pastor Morecraft was the school pastor for years.. funny back then they intergrated religion with public schools.. Anyway, I went to McDevitt and graduated in 1972. Any one that remembers me please write.. there is always someone looking for you..

I'm hoping that by joining this site, I'll be able to locate anyone who attended school with my mother, Shirley Anita Brown around 1950.

John Harris and Edison was a good time in my life. Looking over thoes who signed the guestbook Diane Fritz and Art Snow jump out at me, I remember both of them and with fondness. Thanks to both of you and all the members of the Class of 1962. ps I remember the greasy frenchfries that Terry Bellomo wrote about. I did hangout at that store across from Edison.

Thanks, I also found this site by accident. This is just what we needed for classmates of John Harris "PIONEERS". I'm so proud to be part of the Last Class 1971. So many memories, and so many friends and family members that attended the Best High School in the Land. Here We Go Pioneers; Here We Go.

After really checking this out, I hope there will be much more to come. More pics, more info., maybe even copies of the old year books for those of us who misplaced theirs.(me) Lots of great memories here. I will talk to anyone from the class of 61-62. Please feel free to email me. It would be great to hear from you. Thanks "Skee", you deserve a big pat on the back. I would be willing to help any way I can.

My cousin Marlene sent me an email telling me about the site. I think this is such a great idea. What a way to be able to contact people you have not seen in a long time.

You have created a very nice web site. Came acrossed it quite by mistake, while looking for a photograph of John Harris. I am going to pass it on to others.

I went to Edison Jr. High School between 1953 and 1955. The capitol letters Art Snow uses means he's either angry or upset with my recollections of the french fries I recall, don't know if it was Elsie's, I just recall the fries and the greasy smell of the place. Never sat down and received advice from a woman (Elsie?) wo worked there, too busy with schoolwork and all the teachers I had at Edison, didn't need to go to a greasy spoon for advice I guess. I didn't have money too spend on food outside the cafeteria, and brought my lunch most days. Them's my remembrances anyway. Terry

Terry Bellomo said:   August 23, 2009 7:00 am PST

Oh yes I remember that corner candy store. I probably spent as much time in there than I did in class at Edison. Haha

Tom Ford said:   July 21, 2009 8:49 am PST
I was just reading all of the comments of schools attended before John Harris and the number of people that attended Edison. I was wondering if anyone remembered the little penny candy store on the corner or 18th & Chestnut?? If you do, that was owned by my great-aunt. Her name was Elsie Fritz.

Attended the "old" Melrose Elem., Edison Jr. High and JHHS, class of '60. Plans are made for the 50th reunion and we hope all who are able will attend. Brother William J. and sister Joy A. attended same schools and aunt June Fleager Frank graduated from JHHS.
